Vera Lutter and Michael Govan will be in conversation at LACMA | Bing Theater, Los Angeles, California.

Monday, March 12, 2018, 7:30PM PT.

Join LACMA CEO and Wallis Annenberg Director Michael Govan as he speaks with artist Vera Lutter about her ongoing artist residency at LACMA. Since January 2017, Lutter has been documenting the museum using one of the oldest optical technologies still in use, that of the camera obscura. Using custom-built pinhole cameras, Lutter is photographing portions of the LACMA campus that are slated for demolition to make way for a new permanent collection building designed by Peter Zumthor. Working with objects from the museum's permanent collection, she is also using her distinctive photographic technique to create a new and experimental body of work. Govan and Lutter will discuss the artist's process, and how her project offers a unique perspective on LACMA's history and future.

RSVP to +1.323.857.6520 or [email protected] by Monday, March 5.
