"Inside Out-Photography and Psychology" at DZ Bank, Kunstsammlung, Frankfurt, Germany.

On view February 7 through May 12, 2018.

Photography and psychology are two very distinct disciplines which have significantly shaped our cultural modern age. The exhibition "Inside Out" explores the correlation between both areas and poses the question: In which ways have modern psychological inquiry influenced artistic and wider cultural production? And also, in counter to this, what potential does photography have in exposing the capacities of the contemporary human psyche? Exhibits from both the disciplines of science and of art will be displayed. This fascinating tableau will present complex depictions of the inner human life and its outward manifestations.

On display will be works by Michael Ackerman, Roger Ballen, Alexandra Baumgartner, Sibylle Bergemann, Sophie Calle, Gregory Crewdson, Altan Eskin, VALIE EXPORT, Hans-Peter Feldmann, John Hilliard, Aino Kannisto, Robert Longo, Arnulf Rainer, Walter Schels, Laurie Simmons, Taryn Simon, Annegret Soltau, and Peter Weibel.
